Review:
Sadly it's a surprising thing these days when a complete show turns up on DVD. Usually the best we can expect is half a song filmed on some crappy mobile phone with completely fucked up sound quality. And this is the 21st Century (!)
London and Liverpool are the only two gigs from the WHOLE European tour to turn up on DVD, at least to my knowledge. For a band like PiL that's really quite remarkable.
This was filmed from the back of the hall towards the right hand side of the stage and has been captured with a good quality HD camera, so the picture is sharp throughout. The audio quality is good but not great. I'm sure someone will eventually overdub it with the excellent quality audio bootleg of the show!
There's plenty of great closeups, although predictably most are of Lydon. The crowd are typically laid back for London, although Lydon makes it a memorable gig by having a royal go at the "music press" sitting in the balconies!
It has been filmed from a single camera, although there's also a "multi angle" version of this gig going around but I haven't seen it so can't comment upon the content...
(Unfortunately the creators of this film are bootleg dealers who've been harvesting a healthy profit from it... For shame!)
